You will be aware that the club will host a memorial lunch for Steve Todd on Saturday, 22nd January at Rugby Camp, before the 1st XV's home match with Old Georgians. The event will be attended by family and friends of Steve as well as those of us who knew and played with him over a number of years. Please contact Chalky White at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone/text on 07976 989 971 to reserve your place. The cost per head will be £20, payable in cash on the day or by bank transfer beforehand. This will include the cost of the meal as well as a charitable donation.
The club will open from 11am where on arrival, guests will be offered tea, coffee or a glass of Prosecco. The bar will also open at this time.
Jimmy Martin will prepare a two-course meal consisting of: Roast pork loin steak with sage and garlic crushed new potatoes and cider gravy OR beetroot and mushroom stack with cider gravy. The pudding will be Steve's favourite of scones, strawberry jam and clotted cream.
Steve would have wanted everyone to enjoy watching Portsmouth playing rugby and so the timings have been arranged so that the meal etc will be completed before kick off at 2pm. Therefore, we will sit-down to lunch at 1145am, which will be followed by heart-warming memories and recollections of Steve as told by those who knew him closest.
There will also be a raffle.
In addition, a draw will be made for the auction of the remaining five England vs Wales international tickets for the 6-Nations in February. This will be made after lunch
Interest has been strong to date and total numbers will be limited, so contact please Chalky as soon as possible to avoid disappointment!
