Following the first extremely successful lunch before the Gosport match last month, we are now pulling out all the stops again for the next big derby match against Petersfield. This will be a London South West 3 league match played on Saturday, 16th October at Rugby Camp, kicking off at 3pm.

All members, their family and friends are invited to attend the pre-match lunch. The bar will open at 12 noon and we will sit-down at 1pm. Jimmy Martin will prepare a sumptuous two-course meal for the price of only £15 per head but numbers will be limited to 850-maximum!!

Pork loin steak with sage and sun-dried tomato mash potatoes & cider gravy, served with seasonal vegetables

Banana caramel crumble tart with caramel sauce & vanilla ice-cream

Vegetarian option: Beetroot & mushroom stack with sage and sun-dried tomato mash & cider gravy

The Junior Section was represented in large numbers at the last lunch and it would be fantastic if we could see them again and also some of the Valkyries. I know they have a very tough match against Trojans the following day but if any player/member not involved in that match could attend, it would be great to see you and yours!

Payment by cash on the day please or in advance by bank transfer. No cheques or card-payments on the day!

Rig: No 1's or equivalents with Orders, Decorations and Medals.

Please contact The Chalky White at or by text/phone on 07976 989 971 to book your places.

I look forward to seeing you on the day.

Dear Member

You will all know that this year has seen the 150th anniversary of the Rugby Football Union and you might be aware that Jeff Blackett, of United Services Portsmouth RFC and the RNRU, is President of the RFU.

What you may not know is Jeff plans to celebrate the 150th year by walking 150 miles - at approx 10 miles a day for fifteen days - visiting a different county constituent body each day. Jeff's intention is to celebrate and spread awareness of the 150th anniversary, raise the profile of the RFU and rugby union, post Covid-19 and raise money for the Injured Players Foundation.

On Friday, 22nd October, he plans to start his walk with the Hampshire RFU and the RNRU at Burnaby Road and his club United Services, before heading  for Southsea Nomads and the University Rugby Club at Locksway, at 1130am. The second lap will lead to Rugby Camp where he expects to arrive by 1330 and where we will host a finger-buffet lunch before Jeff heads on his last lap of the day to Havant where he will probably arrive by 1600.

Despite this being a Friday lunch time, and that Jeff will only be our guest for an hour, or so, we would like to give him a big welcome. All members are invited to attend the lunch with family and friends. The cost of the buffet will be approx £10-per head and details will be forwarded later but in order to gauge numbers, please let me know whether you would like to attend using my contact details as below.

Yours in rugby
